TrueCar Steals on Wheels -- Luxury-Cars

As the New Year settles in, TrueCar data is showing that great deals are available on an assortment of luxury cars, so this week our "Steals on Wheels" is sharing great nationwide discounts on five luxury cars ranging from 6.4 percent to 11.6 percent.

As the new-car shopper’s resource for researching new car pricing, TrueCar.com has the information and analysis you need to help you get a great buy on your next new car. If you're looking for a great deal anywhere across the country, any of these luxury models may suit your needs, with True Car Market Average pricing demonstrating a potential savings off Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Pricing (MSRP) by as much as $5,842 off this week’s selection of great deals.

Please keep in mind that “Market Average” is based on the national average of recent vehicle transactions, including destination and delivery charges after incentives that are subject to change, but does not include tax, title, licensing, documentation or processing fees, other state and governmental charges and/or fees, or any other charges or fees allowed by law.

Even though gas prices are leveling off, we’re still keeping our eyes on fuel costs. Just because you're purchasing a luxury car does not mean fuel economy is unimportant, so it's nice to see that most of these cars promise highway fuel economy above 25 miles per gallon. Even high-performance cars can boast about fuel efficiency, especially when that economy is being delivered with the performance of the ActiveHybrid powertrain in the BMW 3 Series, or from the 328-horsepower V-6 in the Infiniti G37 sedan.

1) The best potential deal on this week’s list of luxury cars is the BMW 3 Series sedan with ActiveHybrid powertrain: The fuel-efficient luxury/performance sedan starts with a Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $50,545 and is further reduced to a TrueCar national market average of $44,703. That’s a potential savings of 11.6%, or a whopping $5,842, off the suggested MSRP of this hybrid BMW.

2) The two-seat Chevrolet Corvette comes in second place on this week’s list, offering a potential discount of up to 9.3 percent. That translates into a possible savings of as much as $4,686, bringing the MSRP of America's favorite sports car from $50,595 down to a market average price of $45,909.

3) Even though it's not likely to outrun the Corvette, the Infiniti G37 sedan seats four and boasts an 8.9 percent discount. That translates to a potential $3,387 savings — bringing the national market average price of Infiniti's luxury sedan down from an MSRP of 38,255 down to $34,868.

4) In fourth place is the Acura MDX, sporting a national market average price of $44,141 thanks to a potential discount of 7.8 percent, or $3,709 off the $47,850 MSRP of Acura's sporty combination of sedan/utility vehicle. If you like this model, buy it soon, as a concept is on display at the 2013 North American International Auto Show  with hints that it could become the next-generation MDX.

5) The Volvo S60 sedan boasts the highest fuel economy among the luxury cars (aside from the ActiveHybrid BMW) on this list with a highway fuel economy of 30 miles per gallon. It's also the most affordable luxury car on this list, thanks to a potential 6.4 percent discount. Subtract its $2,231 savings from its $35,995 MSRP, and you could drive away in Volvo's sporty sedan for as little as $32,764.

Last week’s edition of “Steals on Wheels” demonstrated some of the best incentives available on vehicles showcased at the 2013 North American International Auto Show, so if you had your eye on one of these well-priced cars or trucks, keep on shopping, as many of those deals may still be available in the upcoming week at a TrueCar Certified Dealership near you.
